The Fuxing Bridge is 153.8 meters long and 4 meters wide. The bridge towers at both ends are 18.75 meters high. There are 41 vertical cables on one side and a total of 82 cables on both sides. The load can reach 25 tons. The Fuxing Bridge was formerly known as the Lahao (meaning across in Atayal language) suspension bridge. In the early days, it was a simple Lahao iron wire bridge, which could only be used by pedestrians and bicycles. It was built in the 52nd year of the Republic of China as part of the North Cross widening project and was completed in the 1950s. It was opened to traffic, but it could only be opened to traffic in one direction, which often caused traffic jams. Later, a new Luofu Bridge was built next to it. This bridge was finally retired and has been transformed into a tourist suspension bridge.
