Nantou County, renowned as the "Hometown of Sky Bridges," features a suspension bridge that spans 342 meters in total length, reaching a depth of up to 110 meters. This is equivalent to the height of a 30-story building, earning it the reputation of being the most beautiful, longest, deepest, and most thrilling scenic suspension bridge in Taiwan.
Suspended on the sheer cliffs of a precipitous rock, the scenery is magnificent and captivating. The Shuanglong Rainbow Suspension Bridge Park boasts abundant natural scenic resources, double-layered cliffs, and perennially abundant waterfall vistas. Through the Rainbow Suspension Bridge, it presents breathtaking beauty spanning the valley. Within the park, there is a well-designed circular trail and observation platforms. Along the way, you'll encounter the Shuanglong Waterfall, known as "Isingan" in the Bunun language, hence also referred to as the "Isingan Waterfall." It originates from a tributary of the Zhuoshui River and is situated amidst the mountains. Cascading down steep cliffs, the waterfall has a drop of about 100 meters. It's divided into upper and lower sections, resembling two coiled dragons, thus earning its name. The steep mountain walls create a mesmerizing scene of misty water spray and breathtaking grandeur.
Moving forward, you can reach the "Tianshi Trail," a suspended pathway weaving through the forest. Along this woodland trail, you can experience the beauty of the mountains and a sense of liberating freedom for your soul. The trail stretches about 1.5 kilometers, taking approximately 2 hours for a round trip. As you ascend the suspended staircases along the way, you'll encounter varying elevations, involving climbs and descents of nearly a hundred meters. If you're fond of outdoor fitness or a nature enthusiast, come and challenge your leg strength and endurance!
